Hey, Reader!

Well, it's been another week filled with lots of emotions, but overall, Wally continues to heal and will have his sutures removed tomorrow - yay, I'm excited for that vet appointment as it's a big step in his recovery!

Having said that, I came close to panicking AND also had to smile big several times this week.

The almost panicking happened when I thought Wally had died in his sleep.

I kid you not, he slept so hard that it took him well over a minute to respond to my calling his name and touching him. When he woke up, he looked at me like "what, I'm just trying to sleep and heal here, why'd you wake me up?"

The big smiles happened when Wally decided to behave like a normal dog on multiple occasions, for example, when he went to dig a small hole in the yard (on three legs mind you!).

Or when he ate a KONG dog toy that I filled with ground raw dog food almost as fast as he did when he had two front paws to hold the KONG.

Or when he pooped on his own, figured out how to pee without lifting his leg and not falling, howling with the firetruck sirens and demanding TLC.

He's the perfect example of a brave dog accepting his new status quo without being bitter or resentful about it.

We can all learn from that.
