Hey, Reader!

After raw feeding since 2015, I thought I had fish oil pretty dialed in.

Turns out… there was one piece I was missing.

Not because I was doing anything wrong —
I just never learned how to actually calculate the dosage myself.

In my current raw dog & cat food nutrition certification (I’m taking a year-long class at the German THP school founded by Swanie Simon), I came across something that made me pause:

👉🏻 The common “1 ml of oil per 100 g / 3.5 oz of food” rule only works under very specific conditions — conditions most people don’t check (myself included until recently).

There’s a simple formula behind it. And once you see it, the standard feeding recommendations suddenly make a lot more sense.

I added it to my fish oil post — click here to read it (section: “How much fish oil should I give my dog per day?”)

Quick hint before you click:

👉🏻 Take a look at the overall Omega-3 percentage on your fish oil bottle.

Happy raw feeding,
Barbara
