Hey, Reader!

Two months ago, Wally swallowed a squeaker.

The tiny plastic piece inside a dog toy he normally “frees” and spits out.

This time, he swallowed it whole.

And then?

Nothing.

No vomiting.
No diarrhea.
Normal appetite.
Normal energy.

For two months.

Until one Thursday morning.

What followed was an emergency clinic visit and surgery.

He’s okay now. But it was one of those experiences that humbles you — even when you think you’re careful.

In the blog post, I share:

  • The early signs I almost dismissed
  • Why the first X-rays didn’t show it
  • What surgery cost
  • What I fed during recovery
  • And what I’ll never allow in this house again

→ Click here to read Wally’s surgery story

Next week, I’ll share Part 2:
What antibiotics do to the gut — and how I’m using food to help rebuild Wally’s microbiome after surgery.

Because surgery was one part of recovery.

The rebuilding phase is another.

Hug your dogs a little tighter tonight.

Barbara
